I began studying ballet at the age of two and went on to train as a professional ballet dancer. After an injury cut my training short at 19 I began academic study in Art History and Archaeology of Africa and Asia. After spending much time drawing alongside obtaining a PhD, I decided to study illustration at Cambridge School of Arts.

My studies and childhood have had a large impact on the style of my work influencing my use of pattern and love of people watching. I have a passion for the idiosyncrasies of the people and animals and world that I see around me. My stories and accompanying illustrations lean heavily on the strange and absurd things that can be found in the mundane, as well as the magic of culture, history and legend.
